Why should I choose a celebrant-led ceremony?

If you hire a celebrant for your wedding, you can expect a personalised ceremony that is the perfect vibe for your big day.

Here are just some of the benefits of choosing a celebrant-led ceremony for your big day.

  • Flexibility: Any good celebrant will only ever host one ceremony per day. That means if mishaps occur (traffic jam dramas/ important guests running late and so on) then your celebrant is on hand to deliver your ceremony when you need it. It's worth remembering that legal ceremonies in a registrar's office are allocated a set time slot (which is usually about 15 minutes) and other ceremonies will be taking place before and after yours. You can have a 'paperwork day' where you head to the registry office with your two witnesses and sign your legal documents, then throw your celebrant-led wedding celebration somewhere that reflects you and your energy.

  • Freedom to choose the location: You aren't restricted to (potentially pricey) licensed wedding venues. A celebrant-led wedding ceremony can take place anywhere. Whether it's a beautiful woodland, a mountainside, the garden of your childhood home, or anywhere else you can think of, as long as you have permission from the landowner, it is possible with a celebrant leading the way.

  • Personal: You can swerve away from any traditional elements of a ceremony that don't appeal to you. It's all about making it fun, include symbolic elements, readings, songs/ singalongs/ any music you like, and anything else that takes your fancy. A celebrant will work closely with you in the lead up to your wedding to fully understand your requirements for the day, and to deliver an incredible, personal ceremony that shines, and a lovely time will be had by all! Smashing!

  • No time restrictions: If you want a morning, lunchtime, afternoon or evening ceremony, a celebrant can sort that for you. There are no limitations on when you have your ceremony, although I recommend that the ceremony itself doesn't go on for more than 30 minutes or else the guests will begin to fidget! You can make the day look however you want.
